Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

This weekend, I visited another city in Croatia called Split. I took a four-hour bus ride to get there! Like Dubrovnik, Split is right on the coast and full of history.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

I’ve only been here for about a month, so I haven’t traveled very far yet. So far, I’ve visited Split, Croatia, and the city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is just a three-hour bus ride away. In the next few weeks, I’ll be traveling a lot more, and I can’t wait to share my adventures with you!

How did I get around this week?:

To get to school and around the city, I take the bus. Buses are the main mode of transportation in Dubrovnik. They are very clean, safe and frequent. This is really helpful since my apartment is not in the city center, and walking from there to school or the old town (historic city center) could take up to an hour.

To get to Split, I took a bus with FlixBus, a company that offers really affordable trips around Europe. The round trip only cost $40--what a deal! The ride itself was surprisingly comfortable, with big windows perfect for watching the scenery change from city streets to the beautiful Adriatic coast.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

Split was by far the most fascinating place I have visited so far.
