Hi! My name is Brianna, and I've lived in California my whole life.
I grew up in San Diego, the southernmost city in California. In San Diego, we have beaches, warm weather for most of the year (it never snows), and plenty of fun activities all over town. I thought it was paradise! My favorite place to go when I was growing up was the San Diego Zoo, where I could see plants and animals from all over the world in one place. All of my trips to the zoo in my childhood helped me develop a passion for wildlife, which I decided to study in college. The only problem was that there is not a college in San Diego that offers wildlife classes! In order to study what I loved, I had to move away for college.
The thought of moving out of my hometown really scared me at first, but I was determined to learn more about animals so that I can make a career out of helping them. So I moved to Davis, a small town in northern California, to study Wildlife Biology at the University of California, Davis. Even though it was frightening at first, choosing a college where I could pursue my passion was the best decision I ever made!
In the year and a half since I started college, I have had so many unique opportunities. College is about more than just going to class.
