The food court was huge and included a mix of restaurants I recognized, such as McDonald's, Taco Bell, KFC and Burger King, and those that I didn't, some of which had fun-sounding names like Full Pizza, Chicken Factory and Mediterranean Crunchies. Aside from the cashiers speaking Spanish instead of English, there wasn't much to make me think I was shopping in a foreign country because most of the stores felt very familiar.
The boats which take us to and from the island often have to slow down for big cargo ships that are passing through the Panama Canal. At night, these ships can be dangerous because they leave a big wake behind them that is difficult to see in the dark! Even though we won't crash into one of the big ships, we can still get tossed around by the waves that trail behind it.
