We're in the midst of rainy season here in the Philippines. This means it rains every day. Although this means that the temperature cools off, the rain makes the atmosphere more humid, which I think is harder to handle than dry heat.
There are loads of stray dogs and cats roaming the streets in my neighborhood. I see anywhere from four to 10 dogs and four to 10 cats, daily. My host Lola, which means grandmother, has even semi-adopted a stray cat.
The coolest thing I saw in nature were the vines that overtook a wall and fence around a house that I passed. The vines were so thick that I couldn't see the metal fence underneath!
The Philippines is a tropical country, so there are a lot of lush, green plants around.
