Moin! (Hi!) My name is Brooklyn DeVries and I was born and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota. I am the only girl with three brothers; two younger and one older. I am a Junior at the University of South Dakota and I am double majoring in English and international studies with a minor in German.
After college, I hope to go to graduate school and get my Master's degree in international education so I can teach English to children. Some of my favorite hobbies are reading, writing, hiking, playing the saxophone and traveling.
My first trip abroad was in high school. I visited Germany, and fell in love with the country. I knew that I wanted to study abroad there someday. This dream is now a reality, as I have had the opportunity to study in Lüneburg, Germany for this entire academic year! This would not have been possible without the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship from the U.S Department of State, and I am forever grateful for being supported on this experience of a lifetime.
