School starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. every day. When I get out of school, my friend's mom picks me and my friend up, and she drops me off at my house. I live 20 minutes away from school, so I get home at about 3:20 p.m. every day.
Every day, my mom drops me off at school in the morning. We live pretty far from my school, so it's not safe for me to go to school by myself.
I eat lunch with my friends on the field outside my school. My favorite food is pepperoni pizza with lots and lots of cheese, but I only eat that for lunch when it's my birthday.
At school, I speak English, but my family also speaks Xhosa in my house. I am still learning Xhosa, but with practice I hope I will get better soon. If you say "Hello" to one in person in Xhosa, it's "Molo!" If you say "Hello" to more than one person in Xhosa, it's "Molweni!"
At my school, kids' names are very different, and most of us don't have the same name. Also, most of the kids in my class go by nicknames because our names are very long. For example, my name is Abiemoyola, but I go by Abie for short.
