Greetings From Down Under!

Eucalyptus trees are highly diverse. In the Blue Mountains, located near where I live and work in Sydney, there are over 300 species! These native trees are vital to Australian ecosystems, but in recent years they have been under threat. Extreme weather events like heatwaves and droughts have greatly stressed many Eucalyptus trees. Scientists expect that these events will become more frequent and intense, so it is important that we understand how trees deal with them. My work uses math and experimental data to try and do that.

I’m so excited to share my journey with you! Get ready to learn all about Eucalyptus trees and Australian culture, and maybe even spot a few koalas!
