Greetings 2X! I am so excited to get to know you this year. My name is Camille, but you can call me Cam if you'd like.
As I mentioned on my biography page, I am from Boston, Massachusetts. I live in a neighborhood called Jamaica Plain. This area is known for its beautiful pond and vibrant character. My best friends are my twin sister and younger brother.
Although I grew up in the city, I have always loved nature. For as long as I can remember, playing outside has been my favorite way to learn.
In high school, I was able to turn my love for nature into more than just a hobby. When I was 15 years old, I worked for an organization called the Food Project. As part of my job, I worked in a team to farm fruits and vegetables, and I learned about why it is important for all people in the city to have access to nutritious food. I heard you went on a field trip to Miller Farms last week! How was that? Did you enjoy being on a farm?
The next summer, I worked as a Green Ambassador on Thompson Island in the Boston Harbor. Every morning, I took a boat out to the Island, where I worked on habitat restoration projects. Do you know what "habitat restoration means?" I have heard from your teachers that you have done a lot of habitat projects on your OWN school's grounds, too!
