A direct flight from Thailand to Cambodia is around 1 hour and 15 minutes which is about 400 miles. In terms of time traveled in the USA, that is like driving from Dallas to Corpus Christi.
In Cambodia, we travelled short-distances to our sightseeing activities. We travelled by vans 15-30 miles to and from areas. Siem Reap is a smaller city with only 245,000 people living in it.
This week, I got around on a vehicle called a TukTuk, an open-air three wheeled vehicle powered by an engine. It does not look like a typical car, and in fact, it is like a party car, popular amongst tourists. TukTuks typically have shining colorful lights, as well as the option to play music!
The most interesting place I visited was the unofficial 8th wonder of the world, Angkor Wat. It is a huge and strikingly built Hindu and Buddhist temple in Siem Reap, and is considered to be the largest religious facility in the world. Angkor Wat has a mostly black and grey design, and the entire place looks like a magical palace. Many people come here to dress up in traditional clothing and to take pictures.
