Hajimemashite, travelers! (Nice to meet you!) My name is Caralee Casto and I'm from Barboursville, West Virginia in North America. Right now, I'm in my second semester at Kansai Gaidai University in Japan. I'll be here to tell you all about the interesting and unfamiliar things I do in Japan.
I grew up in a small town where it was difficult to learn about foreign languages and cultures, so I want to be able to help students learn in ways they might not be able to without Reach the World. While in Japan, I get to practice speaking a different language, try new and surprising foods, and travel to dozens of places where I can try authentic Japanese activities. I hope to inspire some students to pursue studying abroad in their future.
During our time together, I want to learn what you find interesting so I can explain and share experiences of mine that will excite you. Japan is vastly different from the culture in America, so there is never a shortage of fascinating topics to discuss! I hope our time together teaches you all about the life of a student in Japan.
