I was born in Hong Kong, China, to my American parents 24 years ago. When I was five years old, we moved to Minnesota, where I lived for elementary, middle and high school. As a second-grader like you, I enjoyed playing ice hockey, soccer, golf and swimming. I also loved to read, draw, sing and dance. Now, I still enjoy the same hobbies and have added a few more (hiking and street hockey, for example). I have three siblings and a sister-in-law. I've attached a photo of our family from this past Thanksgiving, where we celebrated together in North Carolina by the beach. From left to right in the photo: my dad, my brother Kevin (age 30), my little sister Caitlin (age 14), my brother's wife Cammie (age 30), me, my sister Colleen (age 27) and my mom. Our ages are spread out, so it is wonderful to all be together over the holidays to enjoy family time.
I went to college in Nashville, Tennessee at Vanderbilt University. I studied to be an elementary school teacher, and I loved Vanderbilt. College was a special time because I got to live with friends, attend exciting classes to help me become a teacher, participate in sports and clubs and explore Nashville. Nashville is known for live music and southern hospitality - I loved it!
