안녕하세요! (Ann-yeong-ha-se-yo, or “Hello!” in Korean!) My name is Catelyn, and I am excited to take you along on my journey in South Korea! I grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts, a small town on the Atlantic coast, and I recently graduated from Michigan State University. In college, I studied Global & International Studies and Anthropology, exploring cultures, communities, and the ways people around the world live and connect.
My interest in Korea began during my undergraduate study abroad experience, when I fell in love with the country’s language, history, food, and everyday life. Now, I am thrilled to return to South Korea as a U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and experience the country from a new perspective.
While in Korea, I look forward to getting to know my students and community, exploring new parts of the country, learning more about Korean culture, and, of course, trying plenty of delicious food! Having previously experienced Korea as a student, I am especially excited to discover what everyday life is like as an ETA and see how much more there is to learn.
