Traveler Bio

This September, I moved from my home in New York City to Zürich, Switzerland! Switzerland is a beautiful country that is known for its incredible nature and its delicious chocolate and cheese. Many people come to Switzerland to hike or to ski. I hope to do some of both while I'm here!

I will live in Switzerland for one year. I will work at a university as a researcher in a lab. At the lab, we are studying how computers can translate between languages, including sign languages!

I will also study new languages here, like German and Swiss-German Sign Language. Most people in Zürich speak German, but many of them also know English.

Did you know that Switzerland has three different sign languages? The sign language used in Zürich is called SDGS, or Swiss-German Sign Language, but other parts of Switzerland have their very own sign languages!

I'd better get back to work– but I can't wait to share more about my adventures with you soon! In German, they say "Bis bald!" to mean "See you soon!" So, bis bald!
