Xin chào ("Hello" in Vietnamese)! My name is Catherine Nguyen. I am 23 years old and come from Maryland. From a young age, I have always been curious about the world. At the University of Maryland, I studied International Relations to learn how different countries and people interact with each other to solve global issues. I am most interested in learning world cultures and languages in Asia! After I graduated college, I worked in higher education and communications in Washington, D.C.
Currently, I am teaching English at a university in Vĩnh Phúc, Vietnam, through the U.S. Fulbright Program. As a Vietnamese-American, I am grateful for this opportunity to live and work abroad in a community I have always wanted to learn about. I teach listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills to first-year Vietnamese students. My students are very hard-working and curious, and I am excited to share more about my experience with you!
