Italy has taught me to really take it all in and be present, which I think is pretty cool.
One of my favorite parts of studying abroad has been traveling. Every weekend was a new adventure—sometimes I’d take a train to a different city and sometimes I’d just explore a new corner of Milan. I’ve been all around Europe, visiting Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Denmark, Netherlands, UK, Croatia, Malta, and France. After meeting many different people, I’ve decided I like to think of the world as a very complex, colorful painting. Each different person adds a new color to the painting, making it really interesting and beautiful!
Now that the time for me to come home is approaching, I’ve been thinking about what this experience has taught me. I’m going to miss the fresh pasta, the bustling streets and the easygoing vibe. I’ve learned how to adapt to new situations, made great friends and I’ve seen many incredible things. Most importantly, I’ve learned how fun it is to try something new—even if it’s a little scary or confusing at first. You also don’t have to go far away to have an adventure. Sometimes trying a new food, learning a new skill or even just taking a new route on your walk can be its own kind of exciting. There’s always something new to discover, even in your own backyard.
Thank you so much for following along with my journey! I’m grateful I was able to share a piece of my experience with all of you back home; don’t forget to look for your own adventures this summer!
Arrivederci! (Goodbye!)
