This past week was la Semana Santa, which is kind of like Easter for those of us who celebrate it in the United States. Classes were put on hold and students were encouraged to take advantage of the few days off and spend some time traveling around the country. Of course, a lot of international students like me had already been planning on traveling through Argentina, considering our limited time here in this vast country. I was looking forward to spending a week getting organized and relaxing before classes started up again, and was especially excited to spend time with some close friends of mine.

Some friends and I decided to plan a trip to a small town that is located about an hour and a half away from Bahía Blanca. The town is called Sierra de la Ventana (meaning "Mountain Window") and is named after a mountain peak in the village that looks like a window. I chuckled to myself when I found out about the name, because it reminded me of my home town, Stone Mountain, which is also named after a huge mountain located in the center of the town. Why can’t more things in life be this simple?

For a few days, we camped on a campground together, all four of us packed like sardines in a small carpa (tent).
