Annyeonghaseyo! Hello! My name is Christopher Orabutt, but you can call me Chris. I am 24 years old and I am from Lake Zurich, Illinois. Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, I played a lot of sports including baseball, ultimate frisbee, bowling and tennis. When I wasn't playing sports, I was practicing or playing music. After high school, I went to the University of Iowa to study secondary history education, and I continued to play music in the Hawkeye Marching Band. Once I graduated, I wanted to travel and experience new cultures. I was fortunate enough to receive a Fulbright Grant to teach English in South Korea. I am currently living off of the southern coast of South Korea on Jeju Island. I teach 6th and 7th grade at a middle school. I live with one of my student's families and bike to school every day with my host brother. I am still playing music and attending lots of concerts, as well as biking or hiking around the island with my friends on the weekend. I’m excited to share my journey with you and help others understand what makes Jeju Island so supaesyal (special)!
