Leaving this Semester Behind

I made the best decision when I decided to pursue my interests abroad. It was certainly a step outside my comfort zone, but it was the best decision I could have made. Combining my love of travel and academics has been wondrous and has helped me to think actively about my future and the next steps I might take, including graduate school, post-grad careers and a narrowing of my interests.

I am more encouraged now to work on environmental stewardship, and I see the great benefit of developing various language skills in helping me achieve my goals. I also recognize that the cultural immersion and experiences I gain from my time abroad are incomparable to anything else I will experience in the United States.

Studying abroad is, in my opinion, one of the best things you can do for yourself. It provides ample opportunities to understand yourself better and your own desires, in a way that I have been unable to do at my home university. I will never forget the experiences I have had here, nor will I forget the lovely people who shared them with me. I am so looking forward to the break from school to travel, but also to returning in February to meet more people and have more fun adventures! Studying abroad has been so good to me.
