Let's Meet Ale, a Naturalist in Costa Rica!

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

I mostly wear hiking gear because I lead tours so often. I also like to wear clothing from non-profits I support like Sea Shepard. I like to say that you should support the people fighting the fights you wish you could, so I like to buy clothing from people like that.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I like to study more about wildlife in Costa Rica so I can become better at my work. I also play with my dogs, go to the beach, and work on my website, https://www.alenaturalista.com. To build this website, I taught myself how to code.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

Spanish is my native language, and I taught myself how to speak English.

Do you have pets?:

I have three dogs and a cat.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I have not gotten to travel much, but my job as a guide lets me see my own country and I look forward to traveling more outside of Costa Rica someday! I want to travel to see concerts. Most bands don't come to Costa Rica.

What do you do for work?:

I work as a guide. When I was young, I wanted to be a biologist, but I had to drop out of school to support my family by working. I taught myself English and how to code and got a job at an IT company. I made $3 per hour there, but it was enough to support myself while I studied to become a guide, which takes several hundred hours of classes. Now, as I guide, I get to work on what I was passionate about as a kid.
