It has been an absolute pleasure to interact with you all over these past weeks. My first hope is that you were able to learn a little about Taiwan and have seen what a beautiful region of the world it is. From the breathtaking landscapes, to the delicious foods, to the kind-hearted people, Taiwan truly is a beautiful place. More importantly, I hope that this opened your eyes a little more and you see how much opportunity is out there. All of you have years of classes left, which means you will also have many teachers to learn from. However, always remember the impact you may have on them.
Some of my favorite memories at school have included students coming up to me to give me candy, show off a new card game, or share a piece of their birthday cake. The amount of joy you, as students, can bring to teachers is unbelievable! While you still have plenty of schooling to do (And do it! School rules!), always remember there is more to discover beyond the streets of New York. Even though New York is a place with amazing diversity, when you're able to find an opportunity, trying stepping outside your comfort zone to find an experience that will change your life. Being able to travel the world and come to Taiwan has led me to unforgettable experiences.
