Creation of the Corn People

Introduction:

I am not a guy who is that into nature. Nature is everywhere, and I love spending hours upon hours just relaxing surrounded by it. I love hiking to waterfalls, swimming in lakes and walking outside at night, spending my time in nature. That being said, I don´t really know that much about all the plants I see, all the names of the animals around me or many of the specific issues surrounding the places around me. However, it is impossible to live in Guatemala without learning about the incredible vegetable that forms the base of most of Guatemala's diets. So today, I get to tell you all about corn!

What does this creature or plant look like?:

Close your eyes. What do you see when I say the word corn? Do you see little baby kernels of corn on a plate? Do you perhaps see a big corn cob attached to a stick? Or maybe you see the entire stalk growing taller than even your parents? What color is it? Did you know that corn isn't just yellow but also black, red, white or a combination of different colors? I never would've known how colorful this vegetable could be if I hadn't come to Guatemala, and it's truly surprising how big it is in Guatemalan culture.

How did I feel when I saw it?:

When I first saw corn in Guatemala, I was amazed. The first instance of corn I saw in Guatemala was a cornfield in someone's backyard.
