Hello from the other side of the world! My name is Cynthia. I’m from Georgia in the United States, home of chicken-fried food, Coca-Cola, and one of the coolest aquariums in the world. Right now, I’m in Ghana. That’s a country in Africa, which means that I’m very far away from home! For this semester, though, Ghana is going to be my home. I get to do something very exciting--I get to live on a completely different continent, eat totally different foods, and experience a wildly different way of life for four and a half months! If I’m really lucky, I might even see some elephants while I’m here.
I’m studying something called international affairs. All that really means is that I’m studying how the world works together, the way groups of people from different communities, towns, and countries and the way all of those groups get along. My own country, the United States of America, is very, very large, but the world is even bigger! By traveling to different countries, I get to make the world feel a little smaller by learning all about it as I go.
When I’m not traveling, my favorite thing to do is play with my puppy. It’s hard not to miss my puppy while I’m away (her name is Via and she’s so cute), but I’ll have lots of stories to tell her when I come home! In the meantime, it’s time for an adventure!
