In college, I have enjoyed serving as President of The Association of Black Students, as student union senator, as a member of various committees and in my capacity on-campus as a tutor in the Learning Center. Attending college has also allowed me to build a life around travel and visit over 20 new states in just my 3.5 years! With my new-found love to travel, I was eager to take advantage of the beautiful opportunity to study abroad. The idea of being able to study in a foreign country, meet new people and experience many things that I didn't even know existed is still one I never take for granted.
Amsterdam quickly became my first choice of study-abroad destination: I cannot speak a second language, and although Dutch is the primary language spoken in Amsterdam, English is spoken a lot here! I knew this fact would help me adjust to this new country. I also love the fact that driving is not the primary mode of transportation here in Amsterdam. Instead, biking, walking, and taking public transit is! Which is soo amazing!
I am also studying at the University of Amsterdam, which allows me to meet other amazing students from all over the world.
I am so grateful to be sharing this journey with you all, not least of all because less than four years ago, I was sitting in the same classroom you are in, and I can promise you, I would not have believed you if you told me then that my life would become what it has become!
