Bonjour! My name is Dalencie Marcelin and I’m from Naples, Florida, which is a sunny town near the beach. Growing up, I loved reading, writing stories, and exploring nature trails with my family. I also enjoyed trying new foods and learning about different cultures through books and movies.
For college, I left Florida and headed north to Massachusetts, where I study Economics and French at Mount Holyoke College. My classes have taught me how people make decisions about money and resources, and how language connects us to one another across cultures. I’ve also been busy outside the classroom, joining clubs like Model United Nations and Mock Trial, playing ice hockey and fencing, and working in internships that help me build new skills.
This year, I am traveling abroad to Paris, France! While I’m there, I will study at French universities, continue improving my language skills, and explore one of the most historic and beautiful cities in the world. I’m excited to try French pastries, visit world-famous museums, and learn how daily life in Paris is both similar to and different from life in the United States.
I cannot wait to share my adventures with you all, and I am just as excited to hear about your own discoveries throughout the school year!
