It got really cold in Jyväskylä this week. The lowest temperature was -17 degrees Fahrenheit. Thankfully, we had four sunny days in a row. Now, the sun rises at around 8:45 a.m. and sets at 4:15 p.m. The sun makes the extremely cold temperatures more bearable!
I saw people's pet dogs, birds (mostly magpies and woodpeckers) and a brown hare. Brown hares are common in Europe. They are similar to the rabbits we see in Pennsylvania, but they're bigger and have longer ears. What animals do you see every week?
There was running water frozen in a really cool pattern off the side of a walking path. I thought it looked really unique, and you can see it in my Logbook photo album.
