Farewell From Costa Rica

Journal Entry:

Hello everyone!

It is officially the time where we depart from one another. I go home to Vegas in 3 weeks, after spending 4 months in Costa Rica. This journey has been incredible and I am beyond happy that I got to share it with you!

There are so many things I will miss about Costa Rica. As these last 3 weeks wrap up, I will spend every moment I can with my host family. From making yummy food to taking me on vacation with them, my host family has helped me so much here in Costa Rica. I have gotten to see the local perspective of this country. I got to practice my Spanish with them every day and even taught them some English. I will miss the friends I made on this journey. A total of 36 students shared this experience with me. I knew none of them when I first arrived in Costa Rica, but as the last few weeks pass, these people have become my family. I will miss the animals that I got to see here and the natural beauty Costa Rica has offered. I will also miss the professors that continued to challenge me and help me when it came to learning Spanish.

Studying abroad is something that I have told myself I was going to do since the start of college. I didn't know anything about the how, when, where or any of the other logistics; it was simply a dream. Even though the idea of being away from my family in a foreign country brought me some anxiety, that anxiety was always accompanied by excitement.
