However, in the areas of the country where many tourist are, everything is in USD!
A bottle of water costs around ₡300 colones which is about $1.60. Water is very cheap here! The best part is that Costa Rica has clean water, therefore, in most places, you can drink right out of the sink faucet.
I had a delicious "plantain canoe" which was made out of a cooked plantain and filled with cheese, mushrooms, corn, tomatoes, avocadoes and sauce. My friend got the same thing but with meat. Plantains are similar to bananas, but you don't eat them raw since they are not as sweet. Instead, you cook plantains.
I listened to a lot of Bob Marley and overall Caribbean music since I was on that side of Costa Rica. I also listened to lots of music you can dance bachata or merengue to!
Snorkeling was the activity that was the most fun this week. I got to see so many pretty starfish underwater and some really bright blue fish.
I read "Única mirando al mar," which means "Única loooking at the sea." I had to read 50 pages of it as homework. It was very hard, but I learned so many new Spanish words from it.
