Dobry den! Hello! My name is Danielle and I am excited to be exploring throughout Europe and especially in Prague (known as Praha in Czech). I am from a small town in central Massachusetts and go to college at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst, which is only an hour or so from my hometown. Going abroad has really pushed me out of my comfort zone to become more independent. At university, I study microbiology and follow a pre-medicine track. I will be applying to medical schools and continuing on to become a doctor in the future! While abroad, I have been taking courses that I typically wouldn't take at UMass, which has allowed me to explore the culture and history of the Czech people.
In Prague, I attend the Anglo-American University (AAU), which is a small school right in the old town area of the city. It’s a big change from UMass, as UMass has over 30,000 students and AAU only has a few hundred! There are so many students from all over the world studying here, so I have been able to meet friends from all over. I am looking forward to learning all about Czech culture as well as all the other countries I’ll be headed to. I can’t wait to tell you all about my adventures. Let's go!
