G'day! I'm Daniel and it's nice to meet you all! I'm 26 years old and from Orange County, California. Growing up in Orange County, I loved listening to and playing music. I didn't go to college right after high school, but instead worked and went to community college part-time, eventually earning enough credits to transfer to San Francisco State University. There I studied communications while interning for small companies doing social media coordination and public relations.
Studying abroad was something I never really thought of. A counselor at SF State suggested I go abroad instead of doing another internship, and I was definitely ready for a new adventure, so I applied to the University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia. To my surprise, I was accepted! I also applied and was awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to help with the cost of attending a university abroad.
Now I am in Brisbane, Australia, taking classes and working at a local radio station where I have my own radio show! The path I took to get here was not a linear one. It was full of twists and turns and ups and downs. I never thought I would end up in these situations, and sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure it isn't just some crazy dream.
I'm excited to share my adventures with you all! My goal is to prove to you all that it doesn't matter what your background is or how you grew up--opportunity is available if you take the chance! Let's go!
