Hola, amigos!
My name is Delaney, and I am currently lucky enough to call Madrid, Spain my temporary home. I am living here from September 2019 through June 2020, working as a teacher at a university. My original home is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I was born and raised.
You may be wondering why I am living in Spain if I was born in Pennsylvania. Growing up, I never expected to move abroad after graduating from college. In fact, my entire childhood I dreamed of being an architect. But after studying public relations and Spanish at Syracuse University, I fell in love with how learning foreign languages and communication skills can help us connect with people all over the world.
By talking to my professors and taking advantage of extracurricular activities, I realized that I could turn my passion for meeting people from other countries into a career by working in international relations. I applied for a grant to teach in Spain after college. I was blessed to be accepted, and the rest is history.
I have now been living in Madrid, the capital of Spain, for four months. Every day is filled with adventures and new experiences.
