Hello everyone! My name is Destiny Ramirez and I am from Pasadena, California. When I am in my hometown, I enjoy spending time on the beach and playing with my younger siblings. I am currently a junior at the University of California at Berkeley. When I am at school, I enjoy walking around San Francisco with my friends and exercising at the gym.
I made the decision to study abroad last year, but at first, I was not sure where I wanted to go. I had always been interested in Africa because of all the photos I saw in books and on TV, but I really wanted to experience it firsthand. After almost a year of preparing for this adventure, I finally arrived in Ghana!
I will be studying at the University of Ghana in the city of Accra until June. Even though I am taking a lot of classes, I still make time to venture out of the classroom I have made a lot of new memories since I arrived in January and I cannot wait to make more. I look forward to sharing information on what life in West Africa is like with you all!
