My Journey to the South Pole!

Journal Entry:

I did not always like science, especially physics. I first heard about it when I was in middle school and going into high school the following year, where we all had to take physics. No one was excited. Everyone kept saying physics was hard. They were not wrong. I had to work my tail off in that class! And even then, I know I got some poor grades. But what no one told me was that physics was also PHUN! And while it was hard, it was also exciting! I had a very passionate teacher who was obsessed with Einstein, so that helped me get excited about physics, too. I began to realize that, even though I thought I did not know physics, it was something I had always been interested in. It answered all the questions that I was always asking as a kid. Why does that fall? How come I cannot throw that ball far, but I can throw this ball far? Which sled is best at going down the snow hill? What makes a rainbow? All those questions are answered by physics. As I continued to learn more about the subject well beyond high school, the world did not lose its joy from analyzing all aspects of it but instead gained beauty as I learned to understand how things worked. Turns out I loved physics so much, I even went on to study my master's in physics!
