Korean is the main language spoken here. In places like the Insadong neighborhood, where there are many traditional stores and restaurants, a lot of the store names will be written in hangeul, the Korean alpahabet. However, English is also very common since many people start learning English in elementary school.
The type of money used in South Korea is the won.
At convenience stores, water costs about 800-900 won, which is about 75 cents. At a vending machine, water will usually cost 500-600 won, which is only around 50 cents.
My favorite meal this week was Korean barbecue. I ate pork belly, sweet beef, meat wrapped in lettuce (called ssam), cold noodle soup and, lastly, rice mixed with seaweed and a kimchi stew called bibimbap.
My friend showed me "Sound of Winter" by a singer named Park Hyo Shin. It's a Korean ballad and I've been listening to it a lot these days.
