The main language spoken is English, but there's a very different accent to the one we're used to in the U.S.A.! It has been quite the challenge communicating and understanding exactly what everyone is saying. When I am at work I have to ask my boss to repeat herself at least three times.
London uses the sterling pound (£). The exchange rate for the U.S. dollar and the pound is 1.25 (pretty high). Things here are pretty expensive but I am sticking to my budget. I love going around finding great deals on everyday items.
A bottle of water costs 2 pounds, or $2.50 in U.S. currency.
The best meal this week has been halloumi! Halloumi is basically cheese but fried or grilled and topped with tomatoes. It is served like a hamburger and it tastes so good. It was my first time trying it. I also had an amazing flat bread sandwhich. The food here is pretty good, I typically am not a big eater, but that is quickly changing.
