Welcome to my Journey in Colombia!

During my junior year at Elon, I had the opportunity to study abroad for one semester in Santiago de los Caballeros, a city in the Dominican Republic. I really loved the experience and improved my Spanish a lot during that time.

During my senior year of college, I was not sure what I wanted to do next, so I decided to apply to the Fulbright Program. I liked the idea of trying something new, and I had never taught English before. I decided to apply to the program in Colombia because of my desire to continue learning Spanish and learning more about a new culture. Colombia is also one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, so it connects well with my interest in the environment, too.

I was placed in the city of Medellín, the second largest city in Colombia, and have been working at a local university here since August. My main job is leading English conversation clubs for professors who are looking to improve their English. I also assist in English classes for university students. I love my job and the opportunity to meet so many new people.

I am really excited to continue this journey with all of you!
