Traveler Bio

Buenos días! My name is Eliana Olivier, but you can call me Ellie! I am 22 years old and am from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I have also lived in Texas and Wisconsin, so really, I am from all over! This school year, I am working as an English Teaching Assistant at a university in Medellin, Colombia. I am working here as part of the Fulbright Scholars program in Colombia. My parents are immigrants from Germany, so I grew up speaking German at home, which sparked my interest in learning about new languages and cultures. I graduated in May of this year from Elon University, where I studied environmental science and Spanish with a minor in Latin American studies. I studied abroad in the Dominican Republic in the spring of 2023, and I absolutely loved the experience, so I applied to the Fulbright program hoping to get the chance to experience another culture and meet new people. I have been living in Medellin for three months now, and I love it! I have met so many new people, tried new foods, and seen many beautiful places. I am so excited to share my journey with you!
