This week, I traveled to visit a friend in another town! To visit my friend, I had to take three buses. That was almost four and a half hours, even though she only lives 80 miles away! It was worth it to see her feria, ride the ferris wheel, play games and try some traditional Guatemalan candy.
I've spent 19 months in Guatemala so far, so I've traveled a bunch! I've climbed volcano Acatenango and watched the fire volcano erupt in front of me. I've swum in the thermal pools of lake Atitlán. I've visited the town of Livingston on the pacific coast, a two day journey from where I live. I've swum in the pools of Semuc Champey, an underwater cave and rock formation deep in the state of Alta Verapaz.
Despite all these adventures, I have so much I still want to do! I want to visit the rainforest in the north, see the ancient ruins and pyramids and explore more of what this beautiful country has to offer.
