Spanish Food in Barcelona

The picture I attached depicts a large plate for sharing, but I have also had it as a small tapa.

Two of my favorite tapas here are croquetas ,or croquettes, and patatas bravas, fried potatoes with spicy sauce. The croquettes have a creamy filling and can contain ham, chicken, seafood and mushrooms, among other choices. I have only tried the ones with ham inside. As for patatas bravas, I like it best when they are crispy, although sometimes they are not. Another favorite of mine is huevos rotos, or broken eggs. It is a tapa with fries topped with fried eggs and Spanish ham. It is a good combination! Perhaps the most famous Spanish food is paella, a Spanish rice dish that can include meat, seafood or both.

A dessert I tried is ensaimada, a pastry with a spiral shape dusted with powdered sugar. It is kind of like a very plain cinammon roll, but it can come with different fillings and flavors.

On most school days, I eat lunch from my school cafeteria, which includes a small dish, a main dish with sides and a dessert. It costs 7.20 euros, or about $7.83.

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I am a huge foodie, so trying tapas is always very exciting for me! I will say the one tapa that threw me off a little bit was the pulpo a la gallegaor octopus dish, because I was not expecting the simple seasoning of just smoked paprika. I did enjoy it more the second time I tried it because I knew what to expect.

How is the food prepared?:

I would say that the food usually takes some time to come out.
