I had stopped to take a picture because I spotted the heron, which I already thought was unusual, and then I noticed that only about 10 feet away was a nutria! Nutria are a rodent species similar to beavers, often found in or near bodies of water. They are common in the area of Oregon I'm from, but I never woudl've expected to see one here! Apparently they are pretty common here too!
This week I've seen a lot of really pretty nature. In the beginning of the week, in Portofino, I saw lots of palm trees, various plants, small lizards, and small fish in the ocean. Portofino is full of beautiful nature, and I took an amazing hike along the coast. In Vicenza I've been surprised to find a lot of parks, and a lot of nature in these parks! Birds, nutria, and even bunnies! It's nice to be in a town as green and nature filled as Vicenza, reminds me more of home.
