Street Food

Here are some pictures and comments about popular street-food you may find while walking around and enjoying the scenery in Japan.

What food did I try?:

Yaki tori (broiled chicken)

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I felt really excited. It smelled soooo good! And the first skewer tasted just as good as it smelled. The second one didn't go so well, being...liver. So, in my opinion, not so tasty...

How is the food prepared?:

It is cooked chicken with sauce. They use different parts of the chicken like its thighs, heart, liver and even its butt in this dish!

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Yes, many street foods come from local farms. The meats and vegetables are fresh and cheaper to buy on the street than in a grocery store. When it comes to street food, all parts of the chicken are used by the vendors, which reduces the amount of food going to waste. These chickens are also raised cage-free and without steroids!
