The weather was lovely at the beginning of the week, but it was rainy, cold and windy most of the end of the week. We are starting to get into fall here, with temperatures going down more at night and the leaves on the trees turning red, orange, and yellow.
One animal that I saw this week while I was walking along the water was a kawaupaka or a little pied cormorant. It was all huddled up on the fence of the boardwalk looking out to sea! I have seen various other seagulls near the water as well.
The bike path from Glen Innes to CBD is surrounded by forest (or brush, as they call it here!) and is right next to a river. It was really lovely to be able to see that beautiful forest and river as I biked and to breathe the clean and fresh air.
