In the caves, we were sleeping within an oilbird colony. They are one of the only bird species that can use echolocation, however, they are rather bad at it. The sounds of the chicks are incredibly loud and have been likened to the cries of tortured men, according to Wikipedia and personal experience. The absolute darkness paired with the screams of the baby birds made for a rather unique sleeping experience!
