Holis! Como le va? My name is Emily Van Vreeswyk, I am 25 years old, and I was born and raised in Oceanside, California, where I attended Mission Vista High School. Taking Mrs. Rosen’s biomedical science classes encouraged a lifelong love of science and a passion for healthcare. In my free time, I love exploring nature, finding cool birds, and taking pictures of bugs and plants.
I currently live in the Amazon in the southern region of Ecuador, which makes my hobbies very attainable! Before the Peace Corps, I studied biology at Cal Poly SLO and completed my senior thesis on the mating behaviors of fish. I am now working as a health educator with the Red Cross and hope to study medicine when I return to the States!
