Hello RSA students!

This is the end of our trip to Taiwan together. We have seen so many things! It was so exciting to share my favorite parts of Taiwan with you. From the watermelon juice to the trains, I hope you have enjoyed learning all about the little island I call home.

It has been five months since I landed at the airport in Taipei, Taiwan and stepped out into the humid morning air. I was nervous, tired and not sure that I was ready to start my life somewhere that was so different than Redding, California. I was also excited to use my Chinese, explore a beautiful new place and teach my wonderful students. I do miss my friends and family back home in California—and I really, really miss Mexican food—but I also am so happy to have all of my wonderful new friends here in Taiwan.

I have had so many awesome adventures, from cliff jumping into the ocean to riding a tandem bicycle! I climbed mountains, swam in waterfalls and hiked through jungles. I have eaten mango shaved ice and stinky tofu at the night markets. I have been to the top of Taipei 101, one of the tallest buildings in the world! I have practiced Chinese and learned to make pineapple cakes. I have gotten lost, been late and had difficult times, but every time, I have kept going.
