As I shared before, I have become a volunteer English teacher for refugees from around the world, who, in turn, have taught me about so many countries I knew little about. This experience has helped me make lots of new connections and learn how to be the best teacher I can be. I have also become a volunteer water polo coach for a team of athletes with different abilities, and this experience has truly enriched my time here by allowing me to share my water polo knowledge with those who may not always have access to a lot of coaching. In addition, I have begun volunteering at the animal shelter and taking dogs for walks while they wait for their forever homes. And of course, I have been enjoying my time as an English Teaching Assistant and getting to know my students even better. In my free time, I have been enjoying swimming at the pool, going on hikes to explore nature and reading in coffee shops here on the island!
There is still so much left for me to explore in this small country, and I appreciate how you all have helped me get out and go on adventures to learn more about Malta. This experience has definitely made me more independent and more willing to step out of my comfort zone, and I have enjoyed every part of our classroom exchange. I hope you all enjoyed reading my articles and seeing bits and pieces of Malta through my pictures as much as I have enjoyed writing and sharing them! I have also loved getting to meet you all in our video calls, and your classroom asks the best questions! I hope I have been able to answer them all for you, and I encourage you to stay curious about the world around you, from your own neighborhood to countries far, far away.
