The Holiday Season in Malta

Why does the community have this tradition?:

This festival aims to restore local heritage and pay homage to (honor) Maltese holiday traditions from centuries ago. Maltese people of all ages take pride in their village, and those from Rabat see this festival as a way to show off their beautiful village and get excited for the holiday season.

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

This holiday festival takes place in Rabat, a traditional old Maltese village right outside the ancient city of Mdina. For this reason, the lights, decorations and even market stalls all echo the style of this city and match its very traditional narrow, winding roads, stone buildings and vintage (old-fashioned) charm. The villagers also like to incorporate foods grown in this part of the island, like roasted chestnuts.
