Traveler Bio

Hello exchange partners! My name is Emma Rosenthal and over the next few months, I will be sharing posts and photos with you about my life in Rwanda. We will cover everything from food to the environment--and maybe see some animals as well!

I grew up in Portland, Oregon, and as a kid, I loved playing soccer and painting with my brothers. I went to college at Tulane University in New Orleans. My family is half-French and half-Israeli, so I became interested in traveling abroad through my family! In Summer 2014, I visited Africa for the first time and I loved the culture, art, and nature in the region. I received a Fulbright scholarship to go to Rwanda and I am doing biology studies in cancer patients.

I live in Kigali, Rwanda, a capital city filled with rolling hills and moto-taxis. I am surrounded by African art, coffee, and a beautiful history every day. Living here has inspired me to explore the nature around me and meet people from different backgrounds. By looking at my photos and journals, I hope we can share experiences and learn more about beautiful Rwanda together. I can't wait to start this exchange with all of you. See you soon!
