Nĭ hăo (Hello) everyone! My name is Emma Peterson and I'm 22 years old. I grew up in Maine and went to college in Ohio. Growing up, I didn't get the chance to travel outside of North America until I was 18 years old. After visiting Italy for two weeks after graduating high school, I feel in love with traveling, studying languages, learning about cultures, meeting new people and exploring new places!
Because of my new passions, I decided to study international studies, Spanish, French, Mandarin and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in college, as well as to study abroad in Costa Rica, Chile, France and China! I love connecting with people and learning more about our world. Eager to participate in more cultural exchanges, I applied for and was fortunate to receive a U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistant grant in Taiwan!
I am currently living in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and am co-teaching English language classes for grades one through six. In Taiwan, I'm meeting lots of new people, teaching wonderful students, visiting beautiful places and eating delicious food! I am excited to share my adventures in Taiwan with you and to explore together!
