Street Food, Themed Cafes and Delicious Food

Introduction:

Korea has many varieties of food. You can find anything from fresh street food fish cakes to traditional hot stone rice bowls to trendy pastries. Since the restaurants close to my host university are used to having many exchange students, many eateries warned me about the spiciness of the food they serve. One of my favorite ways to eat here is to try out interesting snacks sold on the streets for a quick bite because it is cheap and I can find things that I normally wouldn't find at a restaurant like fried egg bread or sugar-coated strawberry skewers.

What food did I try?:

In my travels in Seoul so far, I have tried many delicious Korean dishes, but the one that stands out to me the most would have to be soon dubu jigae which is spicy tofu soup with rice. The soup base is red and has kimchi (spicy pickled cabbage) floating around in it with a slab of soft tofu. To eat this dish, first, you use the spoon to break the tofu up. Then, you use the spoon to stir the tofu, breaking it into smaller chunks, according to your preference. This is a simple comfort food for those who like spicy food.
