Dobar dan (Hello)! I’m Flora from Brooklyn, New York. I went to P.S. 321 and Ms. Eileen was my first and second grade teacher! I’m now 24 years old and will be living in Dubrovnik, Croatia for the next nine months. Let me tell you how I got here.
I loved growing up in Brooklyn. There are so many fun things to do! I played the saxophone and the piano in jazz bands. I also went to museums and played soccer on the weekends. I enjoyed taking the subway and exploring different parts of the city with my friends. I stayed in New York for college and studied filmmaking, journalism and anthropology -- the study of people and their cultures. I believe everyone has a unique and fascinating story to share!
Like a lot of kids from New York, my family is from different places. My mom is from Croatia and my dad is from Delaware. Croatia is a small European country next to Italy. It has a long coastline with beautiful beaches. I visit my family in Croatia every summer and enjoy swimming every day with my friends. I remember walking on Dubrovnik's stone streets as a kid and thinking how different they were from the concrete ones in Brooklyn. Where is your family from?
I have always loved to travel.
